Over 50% Indian Students Will Not Have Skills For 21st Century Jobs, Warns UNICEF

A serious warning has been issued by UNICEF stating that about half of South Asian youth by 2030 will be jobless due to the lack of skills. A very scary and a pressing issue has surfaced via a statement that UNICEF head Henrietta H Fore has issued.

She said, “Every day, nearly 100,000 young South Asians – a large sports stadium of young people – enter the labor market, half of them are not on track to find 21st century jobs. South Asia is at a critical juncture, with a limited window during which it can reap significant demographic dividends from its talented and capable youth,”

As per her opinion, the abilities and aptitudes of the country’s youth shapes the status of the economy. But also Fore raises a blunt warning saying, “Get it right, and millions could be lifted out of poverty. Fail to do so, and economic growth will falter, youth despair will rise, and further talent will be lost to other regions”.
