Coronavirus Impact: Companies Allowed To Hold AGMs, EGMS Via Video Conferences

The decision will be notified in the next couple of days, the official said. Most companies usually have their AGMs around this time of the year.

New Delhi: Companies will be allowed to conduct annual general meetings, extraordinary general meetings and pass certain business resolutions therein without having a physical meeting for a period of three months, a senior official said, citing the coronavirus outbreak as reason.

The decision will be notified in the next couple of days, the official said. Most companies usually have their AGMs around this time of the year. “AGMs, EGMs and certain business resolutions, which earlier required physical meetings, will no longer have that requirement,” the official said, adding that the decision would be rescinded once the impact of the outbreak subsides.
